MORINGA/MALUNGGAY BREAD RECIPE: NATURE'S HEALTHIEST bread

 

Moringa powder is one of the best superfood enhancers you can use in many common dishes and baked goods.  Even if you’re splurging on a rich and decadent creation, Moringa powder can create a nutritional opportunity from your otherwise not-so-healthy (albeit delicious) treat.

 

Today we’re showing you how to make Moringa Whole Grain Bread with a variety of alternatives.  From a simple dinner roll or sandwich bread, to a sweet breakfast or dessert loaf, this recipe can be adapted in many ways to meet any occasion with delicious and nutritious appeal.

 

Moringa Whole Grain Bread – The Basic Recipe

*Makes 2 loaves

Ingredients

3 cups warm water

1 tablespoon sea salt

3 tablespoons Moringa powder

1/3 cup olive oil

1/3 cup honey

6-7 cups of whole grain wheat flour

2 tablespoons of active dry yeast

 

Directions

  • Pour water, salt, Moringa powder, oil, honey and 2 cups of flour into mixer and mix thoroughly.

  • Add yeast and slowly add in additional flour ½ at a time until dough is desired consistency, which should be even and not sticky.  (You may not use all of the flour.)

  • Let dough rise in your mixing bowl for approximately 30 minutes, preferably in a sunny spot.

  • Mix dough in mixer again.

  • Remove it from bowl and kneed it and shape it as desired.

  • Let dough rise until it doubles in size.

  • Bake for 35 minutes in greased pans.

  • Enjoy!

 

Alternatives

  • Extra Protein â€“ Add one tablespoon of each of the following:  flax seeds, quinoa, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.  Sprinkle sesame and sunflower seeds on the top of the loaf before baking.

  • Sweet and Nutty â€“ Add twice the honey, your favorite dried fruits (dates, apricots, cranberries) and walnuts

  • Seasonal â€“ Add twice the honey and seasonal fruits, such as pumpkin, peaches or blueberries.

  • Decadent â€“ Add twice the honey, carob chips and/or caramel chips

  • Extra Grains â€“ Add 1 cup of ground whole grain cereal

  • Mediterranean â€“ Add a cup of chopped olives and 1 tablespoon of oregano

  • Gluten Free â€“ Moringa is naturally gluten free.  For a completely gluten-free bread, substitute with a gluten-free flour.

  • Rolls â€“ Divide dough into balls to create rolls instead of loaves.  Bake until crust is crisp.

I love putting mango in my smoothie and adding pineapple makes for one of my favorite flavor combos. So it tastes good, but adding spinach and Moringa makes it a green smoothie and that makes it far healthier.

Ingredients:
 

  • 2 cups of spinach

  • 1 mango

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 Desert spoon of Moringa


Serves 2, but don’t be surprised if you finish it by yourself.
 

 

Green Smoothie Goodness


Another green smoothie with a distinct flavor. Mixing pear and banana is something you will discover is a delicious and wonderful flavor combination. You won’t even taste the kale, but you will still get the health benefits as the Moringa Leaf powder enhances the Bio-availability of the Kale and other ingredients.

Ingredients:
 

  • 2 bananas

  • 1 Gala apple

  • 1 pear

  • 1 cup of kale

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 Desert spoon of Moringa


This makes 2-3 servings, but don’t feel bad downing the entire smoothie by yourself. It is that good.
 

 

Strawberry, Kiwi & Banana Smoothie

Chop some fresh strawberries, kiwis, and a banana Add apple juice 1 desert spoon of Moringa, and blend it all together.

Ingredients:
 

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1 kiwi

  • 1 banana

  • 1/4 cup apple juice

 

Summer Energy Juice Drink Recipe

Juice the following for a fantastic lift to your summer day: use organic ingredients where possible:

 

  • 2 Oranges

  • 2 Apples

  • 3 slices of Cantaloupe melon

  • ½ cup of raspberries

  • ½ cup strawberries

  • 1 Desert spoon Moringa Leaf Powder

 

Fresh fruit and veggie juices provide an excellent source of natural energy.
