Gene activators: Veggie micronutrients such as Moringa is joining in the fight against diabetes and heart disease By Lynda Searby, 19-Sep-2014 "Supplements containing the phytochemicals are being trialled for their potential to decrease the risk of developing diabetes and heart disease, on the back of new in vitro research at the University of Warwick."

Gene activators......

Th heart is the lifeline for our bodies, pumping blood through our elastic tubular blood vessels and arteries to organs that keep our bodies functioning properly. Blood carries oxygen from the lungs, carries nutrients to all of our organs, tissues and cells, and carries toxic carbon dioxide away. This entire process operates within the circulatory system, one of the vital systems required for human bodies to operate.

According to the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION, cardiovascular disease is a worldwide epidemic that causes over 17 million deaths a year across the globe. In the United States alone, heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women. In fact, one in four deaths in theU.S. is related to heart disease according to the Center of Disease Control, USA.

Moringa to the rescue:

The good news is that we can work to control our own heart health through great nutrition, plenty of exercise and making healthy lifestyle choices. A heart healthy diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. Reducing sodium is important to keep blood pressure levels in check while also limiting fatty sweets and savory treats to an occasional basis. Developing a healthy diet can take time so lean on natural, plant-based sources of nutrients to fill gaps and boost your nutritional intake. Moringa can help by offering a diverse array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants to support heart and blood health.

The important nutrients needed by a person suffering from high blood pressure are Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc, and Vitamin E. Moringa contains these entire nutrient in it. Moringa contains Vitamin C helps support the body’s production of nitric oxide, which is critical to normal functioning of blood vessels. The better your blood vessels work, the lower your risk of hypertension. Calcium is needed for smooth muscle relaxation and contraction; increased consumption can have a direct effect on blood vessels. It’s best to get your calcium from your diet; studies have found that compared with supplements, dietary calcium has twice the benefits for blood pressure.

Potassium content of the Moringa is 15 times more compared to Banana. This high potassium tends to lower the sodium content. Potassium is thought to act by increasing sodium excretion in the urine, which helps blood vessels dilate, and changing the interactions of hormones that affect blood pressure.

Diet high in magnesium benefits those with hypertension, most likely by contributing to the relaxation of the smooth muscles of the blood vessels. Moringa also contains magnesium along with zinc and vitamin E which takes part in decreasing the blood pressure along with other nutrients.
